TEL Community of Practice – What does Turnitin’s AI Score mean?
Our next Community of Practice event “What does Turnitin’s AI Score mean?” takes place at 1pm on Monday December 11th.
In April 2023, Turnitin launched their AI detection tool within the university’s Turnitin assessment type. The detection tool provides an AI Score which has become the subject of much debate. In this Community of Practice session, Ben Durie from Turnitin will discuss the following areas:
- How to interpret Turnitin’s AI Writing Score
- False positives
- Students circumventing the AI score with tools like undetectable.ai or quillbot, the one we hear most, grammarly.com a
- Where are we now – some updates on the current state of the AI Score and what Turnitin is doing in the area
- What might the next 12 months look like – what do lecturers need to know?
There will be an opportunity for discussion, questions, and answers at the end of the presentation.
This will be a hybrid event hosted in the Growth Hub, Cork Road Campus as well on Zoom. We will be producing a recording of the event to be shared shortly afterward.
Tea, coffee, and refreshments will be provided during the event. NOTE: A Zoom link will be provided on the day.
