Community of Practice – Exploring the European Maturity Model for Micro-credentials
Dear colleagues
Our next Community of Practice event ‘Exploring the European Maturity Model for Micro-credentials“ takes place at 1pm on Thursday March 27th.
In this CoP session, we are joined by Neill Wylie, Learning Technologist at CTEL.
‘While Micro-credentials continue to grow in popularity the question arises ‘what can European HEIs do today to give substance to these short, accredited courses?”
The European Maturity Model for Micro-credentials, co-authored by Neill Wylie and Laura Widger (FoELL) along with European colleagues, contains three literature reviews to support HEIs to get up to speed on the topics of: new business models, technology and QA. Indicators on the level of maturity of HEIs in implementing micro-credentials have since been published and are being disseminated via workshops across Europe.
This session will introduce you to the MMM and Indicators of Maturity and will seek your feedback on how this new tool can be used to promote micro-credentials at SETU and the wider university landscape.
There will be an opportunity for discussion, and questions and answers at the end of the presentation.
This will be a hybrid event hosted in a new venue -the Library Learning Lab on the second floor of the Library on Cork Road Campus and via Zoom.
Tea, coffee, and refreshments will be provided in advance of the event at Oscars cafe in the Library.
