Tonya Watts, will join us to outline the opportunity open to all staff at South East Technological University via the Advance HE teaching and learning fellowship process.
Advance HE is a member-led, sector-owned charity that works with individuals, institutions, and higher education sectors across the world to improve higher education for staff, students, and society. Advance HE are well-known in Ireland for the Athena Swan Ireland gender equality charter and awards scheme, the Aurora women’s leadership development programme, and increasingly the teaching and learning fellowships which provide professional recognition for teaching and learning practice in higher education.
What are Advance HE fellowships and why might you be interested in applying?
Fellowship is a professional recognition awarded by peer-review to individuals who can demonstrate they meet the criteria of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) for teaching and supporting learning in Higher Education. Fellowship brings a range of benefits through engagement in a practical process that encourages research, reflection, and development. Individuals develop a portfolio application which identifies their expertise and when awarded are entitled to use post-nominal letters to show their professional status – PFHEA/SFHEA/FHEA/AFHEA.
